Congregational chanting of the holy name in every town and village.

Lord sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a sixteen century full incarnation of Krishna popularized the chanting of Krishna’s names all over the India. He constantly sang the names of god, as prescribed in the Vedic literatures.”Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare”. This Hare Krishna chant or mantra is a transcendental sound vibration .It purifies the mind and awakens the dormant love of god that resides in the hearts of all living beings. Lord Chaitanya requested his followers to spread the chanting to every town and village of the world.

According to the desire of lord Chaitanya, Srila Prabhupada spread the Hare Krishna mantra all over the world, every town and village .ISKCON centers all over the world are conducting Hari Nama Sankritian in their respective towns and surrounding places.

ISKCON Rajahmundry has planned to conduct Hari Nam Sankirtan in 108 towns and villages every year. This programme is working successful in every place.

Today billions of people are chanting the Hari Nama and are relishing the nectar of the holy name. Anyone can take part in the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. This easy and practical process of self realization will awaken our natural state of peace and happiness.

Village programme plays an important role in the spreading of the holy name. When a particular place is decided a devotee from our temple goes to that place and makes arrangement for the programme such as publicity, pandal and stage setting, Prasadam preparation etc. This he does with the help of local people. Any local person is given opportunity to sponsor for the programme. On the particular day 50 to 100 devotees (congregation & full time) go to the place. From there they start Nagar Sankirtan walking through the main streets and junctions of the place, all the devotees along with local residents who joined them, chant the Hare Krishna Mantra loudly. Devotees sing and dance for the holy name all over the procession. After about one and half hour of congregational chanting all the devotees return to the pandal. After all the residents and devotees take their places, ISKCON Rajahmundry temple president Sriman Satya Gopinath prabhu lecturers on Bhagavat Gita. It is followed by Prasadam distribution. Devotees distribute books throughout Nagar Sankirtan programme.
